Homemade Meatballs in the air fryer | Does it save time?
In this video I am making my favorite meatball recipe but trying it in the air fryer instead of the oven. Usually I throw these on a sheet pan into a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes. Full recipe is below, so feel free to try it in the oven too, but the air fryer is a nice time saver. I made a meatball sub with them, but they are great with pasta, or as an appetizer too. Make ‘em ahead and keep them warm in a crockpot with some marinara sauce to have for a football game or holiday gathering.

Meatball Recipe
Cooking with Chris
Air Fry or Bake in Oven
Ingredients:
1 Pound Ground Chuck 80/20
¼ Cup Milk
¼ Cup Breadcrumbs
1 Egg
1 teaspoon W Sauce
Splashes of Hot Sauce
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
Half Tablespoon Dried Thyme
Half Tablespoon Dried Basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 ½ teaspoons of fennel seed (ground)
¼ Cup Shredded Italian Cheese (Parmesan, Romano, whatever you like)
Salt and Pepper
Prepare a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment and slightly greased. If making in the oven , preheat the oven to 400. In a small bowl combine breadcrumbs and milk and set aside. Add all the other ingredients to a large mixing bowl, by that time your breadcrumbs should have absorbed most of the milk, and the softened breadcrumbs into the large mixing bowl and combine until everything is nice and mixed trying not to over mix. Take a large 2-3 tablespoon scoop of the mixture and roll into a ball and place on a baking sheet. Repeat this and you should get about 14 meatballs.
If making in the oven, if the oven is preheated then stick the baking sheet in the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes. Keep warm by adding meatballs to a saucepan of sauce.
If making in an air fryer, preheat to 400. Add meatballs making sure there is still space in the basket for air to circulate. Cook for 10 minutes. Keep warm by adding meatballs to a saucepan of sauce.
