Ingredients:
– 250g beef tenderloin or steak of your choice
– Salt and pepper
– 2 tbsp cooking oil
– Packet of crispy fried shallots
– Yuzu dressing ingredients (rice vinegar, soy sauce, yuzu or lemon/lime juice)
Instructions:
1. Season the beef with salt and pepper on both sides.
2. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over high heat.
3. Sear the beef for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on thickness, until browned but still rare inside.
4. Remove the beef from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
5. Drizzle the yuzu dressing over the sliced beef.
6. Sprinkle the crispy fried shallots on top for a crunchy garnish.
7. Serve the beef tataki as a starter or main dish with a side of rice or salad.
