Air fryer brussels sprouts – simple, two ingredient recipe
Ever had Brussel Sprouts that had a sulfur taste or sulfur aroma? Oven temperature is key in removing this off putting sulfur smell and flavor. If cooked at standard oven cooking temperatures you may hate brussel sprouts. They will taste nasty. High heat removes the sulfur smell and taste. Be willing to try them again cooked at high heat. You may find that you like them.
If you have had a bad experience it may well have been brussel sprouts cooked at 350 or 375 degrees. Blast them with high heat. Watch them carefully for browning and the awful sulfur smells and flavors will disappear.
Some like their brussel sprouts with a little bit of a chew. I you want yours softer, try soaking them in water for 15 minutes first. Then when you air fry them the moisture absorbed from soaking will first steam and soften them. Then afterwards you will get a beautiful browning which will intensify flavor.
If you use this soaking method, you will have to carefully monitor the browning process. A longer cooking time will be necessary. Enjoy.
