Thermomix TM7: Easy Scone Recipe #thermomix #baking #cookingexperience #food #tm7
Ingredients
• 500 g self-raising flour (plus extra for dusting)
• 150 g unsalted butter (cold, diced)
• 80 g caster sugar
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 pinch salt
• 250 g whole milk (cold, plus extra for brushing)
Preparation
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. Place the flour, butter, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl. Mix for 5 seconds / speed 5 (if using a Thermomix) or until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3. Add the milk and knead for 20 seconds (Dough mode) until the mixture is just coming together. It should not be sticky. Tip the dough out onto a lightly-floured surface.
4. Bring the dough together into a ball and roll it out to 2-3 cm thick. Using a 6 cm pastry cutter, cut out the scones and place them on the prepared tray. Brush the tops with a little milk for a shiny, glazed finish.
5. Bake for 12–15 minutes at 200°C until risen and golden.
6. Remove from the oven, transfer to a wire rack, and leave to cool slightly. Serve warm with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
