Char siu (also spelled as char siew) is hands down the most beloved pork dish in Chinese cuisine. I’m sure many of you have been tempted by these beautifully roasted BBQ pork strips glistening in Chinese restaurant windows. I’ve shared a version using the oven before—you can check out that video right here. Today, we gonna make it in an air fryer because air fryer is actually a better cooking method. It’s quick, easy, and delivers results just as delicious as what you’d find at a restaurant!
Ingredient

1.5 tbsp of honey (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/unfiltered-honey)
1 piece of red fermented bean curd (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/cantonese-bean-curd)
1/2 tbsp of hoisin sauce (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/Hoisin-sauce)
2 tbsp of soy sauce (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/light-soy-sauce)
1/4 tsp of 5 spice powder (Amazon Link – https://geni.us/five-spice-powder)
1 tsp of red yeast powder or 3 drops of red food coloring
2 tsp of garlic paste
1 tsp of ginger paste
2 scallions, crushed and diced

1.5 tsp of water
500g / 1.1 lb of boneless pork shoulder or pork butt
1.5 tbsp of Chinese cooking wine to rub the pork
1 tbsp of honey to brush the char siu

Una deliciosa receta de cerdo a la barbacoa estilo chino, preparada en una freidora de aire para un resultado igual de sabroso que en un restaurante.
Ingredientes para Receta auténtica de Char Siu de cerdo a la barbacoa chino
- 2 cucharadas de azúcar morena
- 1.5 cucharadas de miel
- 1 trozo de tofu rojo fermentado
- 1/2 cucharada de salsa hoisin
- 2 cucharadas de salsa de soja
- 1/4 cucharadita de polvo de 5 especias
- 1 cucharadita de polvo de levadura roja o 3 gotas de colorante rojo
- 2 cucharaditas de pasta de ajo
- 1 cucharadita de pasta de jengibre
- 2 cebolletas, trituradas y picadas
- 1 cucharadita de almidón de tapioca
- 1.5 cucharaditas de agua
- 500g de carne de cerdo sin hueso (paleta o lomo de cerdo)
- 1.5 cucharadas de vino de cocina chino para masajear el cerdo
- 1 cucharada de miel para pincelar el char siu
