3. ADDING VEGETABLES

After one hour, remove the pot from the oven. Add the potatoes, turnips, and pearl onions into the pot. Stir well to ensure they’re all coated in the sauce, then cover and return to the oven for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The vegetables need more time to cook through and the sauce needs time to thicken.

4. FINISHING TOUCHES

Once the stew is done, remove it from the oven. Stir in the peas and let them warm through for a few minutes. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Remove the thyme sprigs and bay leaves before serving.

5. SERVING

Ladle the Lamb Navarin into bowls and serve hot. You can garnish with some chopped fresh parsley if desired.

Lamb Navarin is best served with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes if you prefer. It’s a complete meal on its own, but a simple green salad is also a nice accompaniment.

This classic French stew is hearty, comforting, and full of rich flavors. It’s a perfect dish for a cozy winter night or a special dinner with friends and family. Enjoy the process of slow cooking and savour every bite of this delicious Lamb Navarin!
